Description Ulrich Moser 2003-08-19 18:07:09 UTC
Version: 1.5.1 (using KDE 3.1.3)
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 3.3 20030226 (prerelease) (SuSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.20-4GB-athlon

it should be possible to keep a record of mails send to and received from contacts in KAddressbook using a log in the contact record. For sending mail this should be an option while composing a message and for incomming mail a context menu function should allow the tracking matching the addressbook entry by the from address or offering a selection when the from address could not be found. In this case the from address should optionally be added to the addressbook.

Maybe this could be solved involving the journal? An entry is made if I compose a message to a specific person from my addressbook. In reverse, I can search my Journal for mails composed to a person or address.

Using the journal would not require to make up totally new data structures and could integrate the desired information with the complete PIM history.

If such functionality would be implemented, I would prefer it to work when apps are running standalone, in addition to kontact frame.

For some reason I never started using kontact, but rather keep different programs on different desktops. (and like to have them crash one by one rather than all at once :)

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
