Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

hi there,

it would be great, if there was an additional transparent layer
for text annotations in kghostview.

but for what purpose?

suppose you're writing a scientific paper. you can send
a postscript or a PDF file to your reviewer, who can then add
annotations with that layer to the text. he then saves that layer
and send it back to you. you can then simply load that layer again
and can view his corrections and the reviewer would
have nothing to know about TEX e.g.

the layer should move like you moving the text. and perhaps be saved
in a XML style format.

best regards
andre

I think I'll do it, but on kpdf, not kghostview.
Do you have any suggestions? (about the writing tools for example)

as a first try i would like to have lines in different colors, say
yellow, red, blue, and green. to mark e.g. errors in a paper, and for the
annotations say some filled circles, also in the above colors, to make it possible that you can make them correspond to the marked errors. When
you click the circles a text box should open with the review text.

perhaps i have some time the next days to create a "screenshot", of how i believe it should look like.

as i know there is also another wish for a similar feature (bug 67300) who mentions that there is an annotation feature in an Adobe product, which isnt't available for me.

But i even would go further, code review could also benefit of such a review layer if one would exist e.g. in KATE.

Please, do it ^_^
I'm going to implement this very soon and I'd like to start on a good suggested design.

This is already possible in Okular.
