Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.3) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Sorry about the woeful description. And to avoid confusion I don't use the words vertical or horizontal. This bug manifests itself in kmail, but may exist elsewhere -- possibly a kdelibs / qtlibs issue perhaps. If the message in the message-pane is longer than the window, then the up/down scrollbar appears. This is normal and fine and good. However, if that scrollbar appears, then the left-right scrollbar appears .. even though there's nothing 'to the right of' the message. It *seems* to be that KDE calculates the width of the contents of the window, and then gets the up/down scrollbar there, and decides that it's wider than it thought it was, and so forces a left/right scrollbar. It's very .. odd. Cheers, Jedd.
