Description steph.ancelot 2003-08-04 10:46:47 UTC
Version: 1.5.3 (using KDE 3.1.3)
Installed from: (3.0)
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.17-686

Hi,
I am using kmail with an IMAP server (I used UW-IMAP and now Courier-imap server)

I worked with a mailbox containing more than 2000 messages (I am using mailing lists). Every day I open my mailbox and then apply filter to store my messages in a dedicated folder.

The problem happens when you select all or a group of messages

I noticed that a display refresh is performed after each email has been scanned:
- When I apply filters
- many other functions in kmail applied to a big group of messages.

From my programmer view :
It would be better to perform action on all messages and only perform a display refresh after a display timer (e.g. every 1 s and when the work is done ) . When you apply filter or delete 1000 messages it is time consuming to refresh display on every email and seems to me unuseful.

From the user view :
The user would sea a fastest and efficient work of kmail .

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
