Description Roey Katz 2003-07-22 06:47:58 UTC
Version: unknown (using KDE 3.1.9)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1 20030626 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.20

In Edit->Find, there is an option to find 'from the cursor'. But no cursor is ever displayed. If I want to search from, say, halfway down the page, there is no way to specify that (because there is no cursor). Consequently, Konqueror just starts from the beginning if I start a new search. Make some sort of visible cursor to indicate where a new search would begin from.

That option is disabled for me in Konqueror.

Now that we have caret mode, search from cursor could and should be implemented.

I once tried, but it didn't work then. As I'm apparently not the only one missing this, I'll try again.

Taking.

16 months of no action for this bug ... the "from cursor" is still disabled in konqueror...

what is the state of this?

Actually; when you set the cursor (which is indeed less then obvious) the checkbox is enabled in 3.5.
Easiest way is to select a little bit of text.

Seems the bug is fixed, only a usable way to set the cursor and give feedback is missing. But thats off topic for this report, this bug can be closed.
