Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.2) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Compiler: GCC 3.2.2 OS: Linux The ability to see diagnostic information about filters can be helpful for troubleshooting long/complicated filtering lists or finding out why a message was or was not filtered. Currently you can add an X-Header to find out what filters had filtered an individual message. However, this does not provide enough information about the filters themselves. Personally I would like to see: When a filter was created When a filter was last sucesfully used (old filters can be removed if they are no longer relevant) How many times a filter has generated a hit. This would enable the user to see what filters are and are not working for them, and enable them to decide when/if changes to their current filtering processing are needed.
+ ability to search through filters (so one can quickly find and remove duplicate entries) > How many times a filter has generated a hit. + sort selected filters by "filter usage" . so one can put most used (most hits) filters on top of filter list.
KMail has a Filter Log Viewer (in Tools) which can be used to debug filters. Searching filters with a Quick Search lineedit would be nice.
