Version: v1.9.8 (using KDE 3.1.2) Installed from: SuSE Compiler: gcc version 3.3 20030226 (prerelease) (SuSE Linux) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.20-4GB If I click on a CDROM icon to mount it access the cdrom and then closes all windows is open with target in the CDROM, I'm still not able to unmount the CDROM. I have to logout of KDE then I can unmount when I login again. I dont know if it could have something top do with the fact that I've set Preloading of konqueror to 5 (I have not tested it) but still it's a bug that it does not release all sessions that has access to the cdrom when you try to unmount it. Other than that, it's amazing how few serious bugs there are in kde now. I hope that kde 3.2 will ba as stable, what I've seen from the CVS versions of kde-3.2 it will be a big event when it is released. I'm really looking forward to it!
Can you test if this happens only when you're in icon view mode and it doesn't when using list mode?
Huh? I'm a bit lost there. How should this do a difference if all windows are closed? Of course I will try it, I'm just asking how this should make a difference
Ok, just tried it.. Same result. Actually same result on 3 different machines. (All running SuSE 8.2)
It makes a difference for me because in icon mode (in Konqueror), it reads the files in the CD- ROM to generate thumbnails, while in list mode it doesn't. It's the thumbnail processing that keeps the device busy here.
Isn't this the same bug as in BR #37780?
It looks very much like that yes. I just did not find a match when entering the data. This case should be closed as duplicate to the other. The kill `lsof -t "mountpoint"`works for me too.
As per request. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 37780 ***
