Description Anders Norrbring 2003-07-15 18:09:38 UTC
Version: 2.0.1 (using KDE KDE 3.1.1)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs
OS:          Linux

Well, I see that others have tried this too.. Although I might have digged more deeply into it.

The parallel port Travan drives (all of them) shows up as /dev/pt0 if you load these modules;

parport
paride
epat
pt

I can use tar, star, cpio and taper to do backups, but I feel that I want a lot more than those.. I've tried Arkeia, Legato, TapeWare and a few others without any luck, almost every package out there expects a drive to sit on the SCSI bus, if it doesn't, you're toast..

I can't use mt very successfully either since Travan drives doesn't support all commands (And you just TRY to find out WHAT they support!).

So, I hope you can fix this, it shouldn't be too hard if it's supported by those standard linux utils.

Kdat is not developed and mantained anymore. All Kdat bugs are closed with the status "unmantained".
