Version: 1.5.2 (using KDE 3.1.2) Installed from: compiled sources Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release) OS: Linux (i586) release 2.4.21-pre6 Hi, KMail team I have the messages in my inbox sorted by time, from most recent (top) to oldest (bottom). I noticed that each time I modify Settings -> KMail -> whatever and then click OK, KMail goes to the oldest message in the list (the bottom of the list). This is really annoying. It should stay on the message which was selected. A second concern, more of a wishlist, deals with keyboard access. If I change focus to anything (the folders list or the message list) and press UP & DOWN arrows, the message body scrolls up and down. It should instead select the next / previous message if I am in the message list. It should instead move to the next / previous folder if I am in the folders list. Hope this helps. Virgil
On your wishlist item, KMail is much more keyboard accessible than any other mailer I've used. It doesn't have focusable panes like Outlook Express, others do, however. Thus, you don't have to spend your time alternating panes, as you can perform all of the actions regardless. Up, Down --> Scroll up and down in message body. PageUp, PageDown --> Page up and down in message body. Left, Right --> Previous Message, Next Message Plus, Minus --> Previous Unread Message, Next Unread Message Ctrl+Up, Ctrl+Down --> Up one folder, Down one folder (this is somewhat messy...why do I need to press Ctrl+Space to enter a selected folder? It should automatically change to be consistant with the other actions, and it would be nice to add single-key shortcuts (i.e. [ and ]). I can also confirm the bug reported here.
Thanks Casey, There goes that saying again... If it doesn't work, RTFM (or at least use Settings -> Configure Shortcuts) :-) Well, some people here are still used to Outlook and assumed KMail works the same. Thanks again, and keep up the good work. Virgil
