Version: 3.1.1 (using KDE KDE 3.1.2) Installed from: Unspecified Linux A right mouse click will open the KDE-Desktop Menu. By selecting 'ICONS->SORT ICONS->BY NAME' I can vertically align my 9 Desktop Icons. They will remain stable in this alignment for the session. If I logout and back in the alignment must be reset. For a quick fix, if the original menu is calling a Linux level executable one could simply place that command and argument list into .kderc or if this is a KDE system call please supply the snipit of code and once compiled it can be called from .kderc. Less patch it. This is a nit but should be very simple to fix. THANKS.

This problem has been around for quite some time. It is NOT RESOLVED. I have had the same issue of having the icons 'squeezed' or 'bunched up' after reboot for several revisions now. This may seem to be a minor issue, but to new users it is another reason to dis Linux.
Bug closed. Kdesktop is no more mantained.
