Description mi+kde 2003-06-20 19:44:03 UTC
Version: 1.5.1 (using KDE 3.1.1)
Compiler: gcc version 3.2.2 [FreeBSD] 20030205 (release)
OS: FreeBSD (i386) release 5.1-BETA

When started for the first time, KMail creates several local folders.

They are all of the type maildir -- the KMail's default default :-)

The user should be given the possibility to choose the types of these
folders when they are created. For example, I like them all in the mbox
format, so I can access them with elm....

Or at least be able to remove the default folders. They are the only thing
preventing me from using KMail.

This wishlist item isn't FreeBSD-specific.
Comment 3 Ingo Klöcker 2004-01-17 17:53:02 UTC
If you want mbox folders then simply do the following before the first start of KMail (yes, we will probably ask the user sometime in the future, but for now ...):
mkdir ~/Mail
touch ~/Mail/inbox
touch ~/Mail/outbox
touch ~/Mail/trash
touch ~/Mail/drafts
touch ~/Mail/sent-mail

Such a question would confuse normal users.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
