Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.1) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Multiple files in trash with the same name are not possible. For example, put /home/foo1/readme.txt and then /home/foo2/readme.txt to trash, a message appears telling that there yet is an element with this name and offers to rename.
You cannot have two files in the same directory with the same name. The Trash needs an overhaul, but no one wants to work on it.
That's because the trash is a 'normal' directory. AFAIK, on W, the trash keeps files by a giving each item an unique filename-ID and stores somewhere the real name of the file, which then are displayed to the user. Perhaps it is useful to have a look at Mac OS X how there on a unix the trash behaves.
