Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.1a) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages At the moment if I have a directory opened in konqueror (say, /home/user/blah1/subblah/something), the window title has only the first few characters. When you're browsing several deep directories that all have the same parent, it's impossible to tell from the taskbar which window is which. My proposition, is that say we're in the directory above, Konqueror's window title should show "something - file:/home/user/blah1/subblah/something - Konqueror" This makes the most important information immediately accessible, and the rest a tooltip away. KGhostview has similarly bad window titles. It would be great if KGV's titles were changed to act like Kate "Document Filename.pdf - KGhostView" rather than "/path/to/Document Filename.pdf - KGhostView" Thanks guys.. =)
For local files Konqueror 3.5.5 shows in the window title the current directory but not its parents. So /home/user/subdir is beeing displayed in the title as "subdir - Konqueror". This short title with leaving the parents out makes a lot of sense for local files especially for window entries in the panel. So Konqueror acts here like Kate now and your first bug is gone. You second bug with KGhostview is still valid in KDE 3.5.5. I thus have reassigned this bug to Kghostview.
The title is displayed as expected in Okular.
