Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1) Installed from: Mandrake RPMs OS: Linux I must admit, my hardware isn't the faster on earth (k6-2 350MHz, 192M RAM) but when I do the following operations: - select many messages, right click on them, save as - open an imported folder, requirding .index and .index.ids rebuilding - sort a big folder which was never sorted before (requiring .index.sorted building) kmail lasts several seconds (or tens of seconds) taking 100% CPU and without retracing the window nor showing a progression bar. I think this is unacceptable on a usability standpoint... being slow is ok unless everything else gets blocked (which is really bad on interactive GUI-based applications.... recalls me when netscape 4.77 froze waiting for DNS resolutions, back in mid-nineties).
Simone, thanks for your bug report. We are aware of the situation and working on improving it.
Basically the same problem as 56446. I think progress dialogs would be sufficient for now, and easy to hook in. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 56446 ***
