Description Peter 2003-04-22 14:07:10 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs

Hello,

I find that I often create filters in a dynamic manner (one by one as things that I want filtered come in), and that most of the time, the filters do the same thing ("Send to Trash" is my most common type, as I'm sure is the case for most people).

So what I would like is the ability to combine already made filters (or on the fly). For instance, under the Filter Rules dialog (in the "Available Filters" selection box), I'd like to be able to highlight two or more filters and click on a "combine" button to put them into a single filter. This would save A LOT of manual typing, and would also add a small layer of "filter manageability" to kmail.

Similarly, when one creates filters on the fly (directly on a message with Right Click -> Create Filter ... ), it would be nice if there was an option like "Add to Global Filter...." or something like that. The purpose of which, of course, would be to ADD a rule to an existing filter directly from the arrived message of interest, rather than through the Filter Rules dialog.

This is a great idea!

Great idea :-) and quite easy to do.

However I disagree with last paragraph -- let's better keep things simple. User should be able to d&d new filter to another global to merge them or select them and choose "merge".

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
