Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.1) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc 3.2.1 OS: Linux There were no problems with FreeType 2.1.3. When I upgraded to 2.1.4, the vertical lines formed by line-drawing characters (e.g. in Midnight Commander) became dashed if I select a font that is big enough. See http://semzx.newmail.ru/screenshot1.png - this is with FreeType 2.1.4 With FreeType 2.1.3, all breaks are filled and there are more lines in Konsole window (with the same font).
Why do you blame Konsole if an exchange of freetype cause this problem?
Developers of FreeType mentioned in the ChangeLog that they fixed a rounding error. I think that 1) Konsole depended on it 2) People without knowledge of FreeType 2.1.3 will search for this bug and prbably find it invalid (if it is really a bug in FreeType - I await confirmation from Konsole developers before resolving this bug) along with the recomendation to replace FreeType.
I have freetype 2.1.5 installed. Have you upgraded your freetype/KDE since this report? The image URL is no longer valid...
I have installed Debian Unstable, with FreeType 2.1.7 and KDE 3.1.1 and the bug is still there.
