Description Bob Arctor 2003-04-01 15:08:53 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.1)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 2.95.3
OS: Linux

i use speech synthesizer as mail notification program, so i would like to hear
i.e. From: field via speaker, before i'll change desktop to see who mailed me,
or/and hear topic of message (or even content...)

an $FROM $TO $SUBJECT $CONTENT enviroment variables set while executing program would be handy.

Why don't you use a filter for this? Simply pipe all messages (or only important messages)
through a script which extracts the interesting headers and then calls the speech synthesizer.
