Version: 3.1.1 (using KDE KDE 3.1.1) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc 3.2 OS: Linux I remember this capability was present in KDE2, in Konqueror's font configuration page you can select different character encodings and specify the fonts to use under each encoding (like in Mozilla and Opera), but this is gone from KDE3. You can only specify a set of fonts for the default encoding. Perhaps this needs to be a KDE-wide setting as other programs like kate can use such feature also.
I find this new behavior very annoing, I switch frequently between french and japanese and it's impossible to find a font with the french characters (
