Description Degand Nicolas 2003-02-23 10:55:55 UTC
Version: 0.6.1a (using KDE 3.1.0)
Installed from: Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker
Compiler: gcc version 3.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.0 3.2-1mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19-24mdk

File transfer works, but not if you try to transfer to the metacontact. You need to select a specific contact. Then transfer is initiated (but it should be nice if there was some explanatory message such as "trying to establish connection"). Then the other party initiates an empty file transfer with no file inside. And if you try to transfer a second file afterwards it generally fails. It would also be nice to allow batch transfers.

I am running 0.6.1a and I experience this bug as well.

The first transfer through OSCAR [MSN doesn't seem to work at all] will prompt
you to receive an empty file from the receipiant.

If you hit 'Accept' it is placed in your transfer list with the Receipient of
YOUR file as the recipient of the file that Kopete just stated they were sending
to you [yes, it's as confusing as it sounds.]

If you choose 'Reject' the file you intended to send the recipent sends fine and
the empty file you were to receive from the recipient does not display in the
the transfer list.

After the first file transfer is complete, if you attempt to send another file
-- Kopete crashes when the receipient accepts the file transfer [not when you
send it.]

I've spent about an hour playind around with this tonight.

sorry the last second of my comment disappeared... It was intended to say:

After the first file transfer is complete, if you attempt to send another file
Kopete crashes.

Kopete doesn't crash on the second file transfer in 0.6.2, but it still prompts
you to download an empty file from the receipent of the file transfer when YOU
and sending a file.

FileTransfers/DirectConnection will be disabled in 0.7.2, I don't have any docs on it
and the initial author is gone so this won't be implemented anytime soon.

Resolve as "LATER" because I really cannot do something to this right now.
