Version: 2.1 (using KDE 3.1.0) Installed from: Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker Compiler: gcc version 3.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.0 3.2-1mdk) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19-16mdk When passing from Toolview mode: Classical to Modern style (and vice-versa), you have to quit and relaunch kate to see the changes. By the way, I think the Classical style has no more place in kde 3.1. Konqueror, Kdevelop3 and many other applications use the "modern style" and if only for consistency, that should be it.
that won't be changed, too much work the whole classis-><- modern style changer is only a backward compatibility thingy for people who really like classic, no need to waste time for an instant switcher between that modes classic will stay but be not default, should be ok enough, chooser will stay too ;)
