Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1) Installed from: RedHat RPMs OS: Linux I'm using several IMAP accounts for different addresses. I want to be able to configure a notification for one account but not for the others. One of my accounts is for personal email, another one for mailinglists. I want to get notified if real mail comes in but not if there is a new mail on linux-kernel... It would be perfect if you could also limit notifications to specific IMAP folders (I do not want to get notified if my sieve script dropped something into my "Spam" subfolder...)
You can exclude accounts from the check, isn't that what you want?
No, then I won't see that there are new mails in the folders until I explicitly open them (the counter in the "Unread" column won't increase). As I'm subscribet to about 20 mailinglists and have a separate subfolder for each (mails distributed into the folders by a sieve script) that is not what I want.
I only have one account, but I would like the ability to turn on/off notification on a per folder basis. When I am working I don't really want to have to guess if the new message is from a mailing list (which can be read in my spare time) or from someone who might need a quicker response. An additional item (if this should go into another wishlist item then let me know and I will do that) that would be useful if/and when a color can be assigned to a sender would be to have the new mail notification dialogue box display say up to 5 colors based on who sent the message. For instance my boss is set to display blue and my wife red. I could know via the notification dialogue whether the message was from my wife or my boss. If there were more than the maximum number that could be displayed this could be noted. Maybe it would be noted by displaying 4 colors and then ... in place of the 5th color or something like that.
Sorry for the extra messages to the kmail list, but I just noticed another related bug report. If it helps w/ the bug accounting it seems like bug 54332 is basically a duplicate of this bug (54268) or that adding this feature could easily add the feature described in that bug (54332).
Sorry for all the kmail list bugs, I'm just noting that this bug is also very closely related to (or a duplicate of) bug 37681.
You can prevent teh notification on new mail on a per folder basis (KMail 1.8 / KDE 3.4).
