Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc 3.2 OS: Linux When I open the LAN Browser, I see my network neighbourhood so lisa does her work, but opening/clicking lan://localhost/machine-name/SMB/ doesn't show the available shares that smb://machine-name/ does. No crashes. Opening lan://localhost/machine-name/SMB/share fails (error: directory does not exist) but smb://machine-name/share nicely shows the contents of the share. Regards, Martin
I've the same problem with the original KDE 3.1 SuSE 8.1 Packages. sam
do you actually get the error message on screen? try open a terminal in x and start konqueror from it if you dont get the frame with lan browsing hit f9 and select lan browsing and try accessing a share on your network. I have a similar problem I am using kde3.1 with slackware current I get the following error: kio (KIOJob): WARNING: ListJob: Redirection from lan://localhost/192.168.0.6/SMB to smb://192.168.0.6 REJECTED! I have seen 1 other person with the problem using kde3.1 forget the distro he used. his message was found on google groups it was originally in spanish i translated with world.altavista.com if anyone finds a fix please email me dkirkpa@mchsi.com
exactly the same error (SuSE 7.3 - Intel) Diego
When i try to browse smb or ssh-shares i dont't get an error-message, but the konqueror-lan-frame is still empty. I only get an error-message (error: directory does not exist) when i try to open a shared directory with lan://localhost/machine-name/shared-directory. smb://machine-name/shared-directory (this url must be typed manually) works fine. I think the reason for all this trouble is lan://localhost/machine-name/shared-directory should be directed to smb://machine-name/shared-directory automatic but konquror's lan browser (KDE 3.1 only) doesn't work so. sam
When I start Konqueror from Konsole, i get following Error Message (in konsole): samuel@linux:~> konqueror ASSERT: "dir" in konq_treeviewwidget.cc (197) QDict: Cannot insert null item kio (KIOJob): WARNING: ListJob: Redirection from lan://localhost/linux.local/SMB to smb://linux.local REJECTED! sam
Having the same problem but no message appear in the teminal.
Exactly the same error with Debian woody (stable), and official kde.org apt-get sources. kio (KIOJob): WARNING: ListJob: Redirection from lan://localhost/192.168.1.1/SMB to smb://192.168.1.1 REJECTED!
I have the same problem with SuSE8.0 after installing the SuSE KDE3.1 packages I get the following error when starting from a terminal window: kio (KIOJob): WARNING: ListJob: Redirection from lan://localhost/billy/SMB to smb://billy REJECTED! I also made a trace with ethereal. I only see LISa probing for the different protocols: http,ftp,smb,... The smb-probe is succesfull but I never see a request coming for a list of shared folders. when I do "smbclient -U billy", I get a list of the shared folders.
Same problem here, I can see the shares but no files in it. I'am sure they are there. Red Hat 8
I think this is also the same bug as the one Waldo fixed in both cvs branches. If you don't want to update, try the tip in "comment 2" on this page: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53202 If it doesn't work for you, please notify me. Alex
Subject: Re: lanbrowser doesn't show contents of SMB shares Hmm, after reading the bug again I must say I agree with you, but then I think the title has misleaded me and the person from comment #9 because we seem to have the same problem: "I can see the shares but no files in it" After looking through the buglist it seems similar to bug #30645 although that was entered a loooong time ago for version 2.2.
