Description M 2003-01-31 00:21:26 UTC
Version: Gideon alpha3 (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
OS: Linux

As I said in bug#44838 (which is closed although it's problem isn't fixed)

Marking text with mouse and then trying to paste it is impossible in many KDE applications
most notably Konqueror and KDevelop (which Im using now).
Sometimes it works sometimes it does not.

Try copying something from the Doc part of KDevelop into a source file.. it doesn't work..
(do this right after starting KDE and KDevelop)

The workaround seem to be to mark something else in another program (like konqueror)
and then use Ctrl+C to copy this after that mark the text you wanted to copy and paste it with the middle mouse button.. it will work.

In the Doc mode the Edit menu's cut, copy and paste are not present.. WHY?
I use example code in some tutorials I've added directly and when I can't copy and paste them in an easy way its really annoying..

Marking something should ALWAYS put it into the middle button buffer...

This seems to work for everything I tried it on except pages viewed in the doc browser.
Since they are rendered html pages using the embedded konqueror parts, and you have this
problem with konqueror as well, I suppose it's a konqueror thing? Reassigning.
