Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.99) Installed from: Debian stable Packages Compiler: gcc 2.95.4 Debian GNU/Linux woody OS: Linux Hello, trying to print this page with 1 or 2 page/s per sheet results in only the left 30% of the sheet is used. Printpreview shows it the same wrong way. I tried it with KDE 3.0.4 and KDE 3.1rc6 and 7(from kandalf).
No testcase, server not reachable -> closing.
great resolution.:( sorry for reporting bugs!
Daniel, this is not the right solution to the problem. If a server is not reachable, try again at a later time. I just checked this bug and still found this bug valid. Try the print preview, only the left third of the page is filled with print content. Pleaese reopen the bug.
Daniel closed a still valid bug.:(
calm down guys, shit happens.
You could have saved us time in adding the document meanwhile. I can't fix bugs with documents on unresolvable hosts and we've got enough of different bugs. So back at INVALID ;( wget http://www.bayour.com/LDAPv3-HOWTO.html Resolving www.bayour.com... failed: Host not found.
its back again since some time. the day after your closing it was available.
it's not 30% but roughly 60% here. I don't know why khtml doesn't float the text on the full line.
I see 33 pages in print preview which actually the 33th page is the end of the website. Reporter please recheck with KDE 3.5.2. Thanks.
Bug is still valid (KHTML/Konqui scale printout to about 50% of the page width if printed in "A4 portrait" settings...) I assume that this is an appearance of the same "bug" (or "feature", depending on your p.o.v.) that scales down fonts and pages in order to accomodate <pre> tags with very long lines, or pictures, images and graphical elements that would otherwise exceed the page width...) *But*: ------ (a) Firefox 1.5/2.0, Opera 9.1 and IE 5.0/5.5./6.0/7.0 all have various problems in creating a good printout of this document (b) this HTML document was created with OpenOffice.org 1.1.4 (see its "meta" tags) and uses an according "@page" stylesheet, with other styles mixed in between for paragraphs, tables etc.) (c) See also http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bayour.com%2FLDAPv3-HOWTO.html for "Failed validation, 906 errors" and the verdict "This page is not Valid HTML 4.0 Transitional!" Noel, I suggest 3 potential workarounds for you to try out: (1) print this document from Konqueror in A4 Landscape directly to printer; the result will be better (you decide if "acceptable") (2) print this document from Konqueror in A3 Landscape to "Print to file (PDF)" special printer; then print it to a real printer with this Konsole commandline: "lp -d printername -o PageSize=A4 -o fitplot /path/to/pdf"; the result will very likely be "good enough" (3) download the HTML; import it into OOo 1.1.4 and print from there... it may help if you set "Format -> Page... -> Page" to A4/landscape here as well, with some smaller margins (and if that doesn't work, try your luck with OOo 2.0/2.1)
Will close this bug now as duplicate of bug 100604 (which covers the same issue more generally). http://www.bayour.com/LDAPv3-HOWTO.html is b0rken in itself, but it also includes a few elements (like long <pre> lines) which make KHTML scale down the printout size in order to accomodate the full line into the page width. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 100604 ***
