Description kris 2003-01-16 09:41:25 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.0.5)
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 3.2
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19-4GB

Ralph Nolden asked for inclusion of gpg-agent in startkde on the kmail mailing list (http://lists.kde.org/?l=kmail&m=104266791227466&w=2).

A similar wish exists for ssh-agent in Bug 44177 for KDM.

I asked on the kmail mailing list, if it wasn't possible to have kdm start a secure storage management process that acts as a ssh-agent, gpg-agent and the like, using the kdm login password to decrypt the different keys for these agents. This way, one would have a nice single sign on solution for KDE, integrating crypto support for different tools into the desktop environment. See
http://lists.kde.org/?l=kmail&m=104270570328054&w=2
for my mail.
