Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources 1) Mount my removable storage device. 2) Access it with Konqueror. 3) Close the Konqueror window. 4) Try to unmount the device --> failed, "device is busy" Upon running "lsof -n | grep /mnt/device" (as root), I see that some folders on the device are being watched by famd, obviously by Konqueror's request. To top that, I cannot easily make famd stop watching those directories -- except for killing it (as root, since it runs from inetd).

that's how it appears to me as well. in former times konqueror itself kept blocking the mounts from unmounting and now famd took over to be the bad ass! Please solve that problem! It should be possible to umount devices in a desktop environment without having to kill something by hand in the console! Even if this might be a famd problem please communicate with those developers to resolve that nasty bug!
correction: kde seems to still play the badass either sometimes!
