Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.99) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages I am using KDE 3.1rc5 on Debian unstable, i386 platform. When opening multiple images from an e-mail message (right-click->View), all images open correctly. The problem lies with the closing of the images via the ctrl-F4 sequence. The first press of ctrl-F4 closes the window last opened (the most recently selected). If multiple image windows have been opened, after closing the most-recently opened window, the next-to-last most recently opened window is not selected. Therefore no more windows can be closed by ctrl-F4. In a list format, the above paragraph means that windows open and the most recently opened window remains selected in the following order: A->B->C, etc. When closing the currently selected window C via ctrl-F4 no other windows are selected and thus cannot be closed by a key sequence. Instead a user must maneuver the cursor via mouse control and manually click the close box on each window which has been opened. This is inefficient and time-consuming versus simply pressing ctrl-F4 multiple times. A sequence of windows A->B->C should be capable of closure via a series of ctrl-F4s, and as each selected window is closed the one most recently opened is selected. I hope the above is expressed in a sufficiently cogent form. Robert
That's a wish but no bug. Currently we let the window manager decide which window should be selected after closing a window. I'm not sure how this should work. Which window should be selected if the user does this: open window A, open window B, open window C, select window B, close window B? Should window A be selected (because it was opened before window B) or should window C be selected (because it was selected before window B)? The window manager would select window B.
Subject: Re: wish: close View Attachment windows in reverted order of opening That's a good idea, but can you tell me if there is a way to configure such behavior in KDE?
