*** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports Please remove this comment after reading and before submitting - thanks! *** SUMMARY In previous KDE applications the KFileDialog very conveniently remembered both sorting column and sorting order for the files. Now it seems to revert to some kind of "standard" order every time it is re-opened. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Do an operation that opens a file (an attachmetn to an email is a good candidate) 2. Change the sorting to Descending date 3. Select a file and press Add attachment again. OBSERVED RESULT The sort order is not what you selected at the previous file select EXPECTED RESULT Preserve the sort order and sort column - At least inside the same application. Preferrably make it possible to select defaults. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: FC42 KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.22.0 Qt Version: 6.9.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This worked very nicely earlier - Please do improvements, but do not destroy old long tweaked and thought out convenient behaviour when improving.
Additional comment: It seems like the behaviour just have changed. Found the sorting icon in the dialog and what you select there seems to stick betweek invocations as it should. Yippee. I had only been changing the order by double clicking on the header - Which also changed the default earlier. I am fine with the new behaviour, the change just surprised me! My bad.
