Description alpenbeach 2026-02-08 22:58:24 UTC
SUMMARY
Only partially responsive split view folder content on startup. Can fix manually for each window instance.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Configure Dolphin > Interface > Show on startup <selected static path>
2. Configure Dolphin > Interface > New windows: Check begin in split view mode
3. Open new dolphin window

OBSERVED RESULT
Both split view areas are not fully responsive. There is no "focus" highlighting of left/right areas and right click does not work. Left click to select directories works and can change directories with double click.
As soon as in the left or in the right side of the split view a directory is changed, highlighting of the left/right side is visible again and right click works. Another way to fix the issue is by a left click into the path bar (without really changing anything)

The issue appears only with static path selected

EXPECTED RESULT
Highlighting each side of the split view and right click should work fright from the start

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Just as an additional comment I would like to add, that it would be very useful to have two different static directories on startup as an option. If in split view, both paths should be opened, but if not in split view simply ignore the second one. This would create a nice customised "homepage" feeling for the file system.
