SUMMARY
Thank-you for implementing in the master branch the new KMyMoney “Prevent changing reconciliation status by click on Column C” option. I have downloaded and tried this using: kmymoney-master-5246-linux-gcc-x86_64.AppImage.
Internally this reported as "Version 5.2.70-77f57dd".

With the new KMyMoney ledger “Prevent changing reconciliation status by click on Column C” option enabled, as expected I can no longer change the value in the “C” column by clicking on the column, thank-you. I can change the reconciliation status value using one of the options below:
    • Appropriate shortcut key combination
    • Using the RMB menu “Mark transaction as…” command
    • Editing a transaction and using the “Status” drop down box

So everything is working as described and expected. I look forward to this being in a future release, it looks like it is planned for version 5.3?

Having used it I have some thoughts and questions. I appreciate that some ideas may not be possible to implement and/or that others will believe they are not a good idea to implement.

Q1. Is it possible to allow changing of the “Status” “C” column when clicking on the “C” column in reconcile operation mode only?
This means that the “Prevent changing reconciliation status by click on Column C” option would only take effect when not in a reconcile operation. To me this would potentially give the best trade-off between flexibility of use and the robustness of the account reconcilation process, especially if Q2 below is possible.

Q2. During normal usage I do not ever expect to manually have to set the status of a ledger entry to “reconciled”. I only expect the “Finish” command that is used at the end of a reconcile operation to do this to all the entries I have set to “Cleared”. So would be possible to have an option that when clicking on the ledger “C“ column (if enabled for editing the value in a reconcile operation as suggested in Q1) that would only toggle between the two values “Not reconciled” (blank) and “Cleared”? If this is possible would it also be possible to have a shortcut key combination that did the same? Someone has previously requested something like this in bug 459772.

Q3. When I am in an account reconcile operation, after I have “Cleared” an entry by clicking on the "C" column or using the corresponding shortcut key combination, my next operation is usually to manually move the ledger entry selection to the next “Not reconciled” (blank) entry below in the ledger. Would it be possible to have an option to do this move/selection automatically? This would I believe speed up the reconcile operation.

Please let me know if you are think anything above is worth raising separate tickets for.

The ongoing updates and support are greatly appreciated.
