Description Sollace 2026-02-07 13:53:58 UTC
SUMMARY

In a multi-monitor setup, if you have desktop icons enabled (which I assume most do), if you create a file in ~/desktop the icon for that file does not appear on the main monitor. On my setup it appears on the second monitor.

This becomes particularly problematic when the second monitor isn't active, as it will still go there with no way to reach it.

Included in the steps to reproduce are things that (I think) may be related that might have caused this.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect two monitors
2. On the second monitor, delete any panels that exist
3. From the main monitor, duplicate the panel onto the second monitor
4. Open konsole run "touch ~/Desktop/test"

OBSERVED RESULT

A test file will appear on the second monitor.

EXPECTED RESULT

The test file should appear on the first monitor.
