digiKam 8.8.0 views random color distortion

SUMMARY
Since digiKam 8.8.0, upon starting the app, colors in all views occasionally become extremely distorted. Restarting digiKam usually fixes the problem for the session, but it will happen again, seemingly at random, perhaps 1 in 4 times.

I did not change anything in digiKam's Color Management settings.

The system has multiple color profile assigned to the same monitor for different brightness levels. I don't know whether it has something to do with this bug, but the same arrangement never had any issue before 8.8.0.

Gwenview and other apps don't have the same issue.

digiKam has the proper color management engine based on littlecms. Do not mix both (desktop + DK).

As i know Gwenview do not support CM.

Here i use DK under Plasma + Kubuntu 24.04 LTS with problem (multi-screens).

Gwenview supports color management via lcms2. lcms2 is one of its hard dependencies.
See Gwenview -> Configure Gwenview -> Advance for relevant settings.

The cause could be Bug 511092.
