SUMMARY The "Global animation speed" slider in kcm_animations is a little unclear, in the way it is labelled. The scale is labelled as "Slow -> Instant" from left to right. "Instant" will actually disable all animations, but that's not really clear from the way the slider is labelled. It's not that the slider doesn't work, just that perhaps the labelling of it could be improved? "Instant" disabling animations isn't really an obvious logical path for some folks SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Kinoite 44 KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.91 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.22.0 Qt Version: 6.10.1
The discussion on the matrix KDE Contributor's Chat seems to have made it clear that changes are warranted here. In general I believe adding to the labels beneath the slider is not really possible as there isn't the width to do so, nor a way to align properly to tickmarks. A separate way to enable/disable animations seems warranted, with the speed slider instead ranging from slow to fast (not instant).
