SUMMARY When saving as a PNG, the option to choose a transparent colour doesn't work. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Krita 2. Create an image 3. File, Save As 4. Save as PNG image 5. In the "PNG image - Krita" window, try to click in the box next to "Transparent color" OBSERVED RESULT Nothing happens when you click. EXPECTED RESULT A color picker appears for you to pick a color (as happens when you do the same with JPG for example). SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20260131 KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.22.0 Qt Version: 6.10.1 Kernel Version: 6.18.7-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11
I can't reproduce this. Do you maybe just need to uncheck "Store alpha channel (transparency)"? You can't set the transparent color when you're saving the transparency as-is.
Thanks, yes, I've just realised that the "Transparent color" option is disabled if "Store alpha channel" is ticked. In which case I'll change this bug report to be that it should be made more obvious, somehow, that that option is only relevant when "Store alpha channel" is unticked. For example, "Transparent color" could be directly underneath "Store alpha channel", and the words "Transparent color" could be greyed out when "Store alpha channel" is ticked.
