Description fernandez.eg 2026-01-30 07:57:39 UTC
SUMMARY
My panel is set to Auto-hide. When opening a panel widget (e.g. system tray Audio Volume, Networks, Plasma Launcher menu etc.) and then clicking on an open Window (e.g. Konsole) without closing the system tray widget, the panel auto-hides. Subsequently, when hovering the mouse at the bottom, the panel reappears normally, however clicking on the widget does not make the widget dialog reappear (but the close popup arrow moves, a blue bar appears as if it were open).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set Panel on auto-hide
2. Open a window (e.g Konsole)
3. Make panel appear, and open a system tray (e.g. Audio Volume)
4. Without closing Audio Volume, click on the Konsole in desktop background. Panel auto-hides
5. Make panel appear again and click on Audio Volume in System Tray, it does not appear.

OBSERVED RESULT
I observed this 100% with system tray widgets, and sometimes with Launcher (but cannot reproduce it 100%).

EXPECTED RESULT
Widget dialogs should reappear even after being auto-hidden with Panel.

can't reproduce either
Comment 3 fernandez.eg 2026-01-30 14:41:15 UTC
Thank you for the feedback. I am puzzled. Would a recording help?
Also as additional info, I am using a widescreen 3440x1440 at 144Hz, I do not know if this could be important. What would you recommend? Should I try to reset my KDE config? Or test with a new user, so with a new config?
Comment 4 fernandez.eg 2026-01-30 15:02:49 UTC
I just created a new user and tried to reproduce this bug. I set the panel to the same geometry (centered, translucent, personalised size as it only occupies 50% of the screen width) and indeed I cannot reproduce it with a fresh user. Could I have old KDE settings on my current user that leads to this issue?
Comment 5 fernandez.eg 2026-01-30 15:21:33 UTC
It seems I can reproduce with my current user using 2 windows (overlapping, one front, and one back). Then I display Audio Settings from the panel, and then click on the back window (not the front), and trigger the bug. I need to verify if this occurs with new user, but could you please try that way?
