(Sorry for the first comment, I clicked on the Enter button by accident.) SUMMARY Sometimes I install applications from my browser, and extract them. I start that application in the terminal, it works fine, and it shows it in the Application Launcher. When I delete them via Dolphin, they are still shown. So I try to delete them by typing the name of the application, right click and choosing "Edit Application". I click on the "Delete" button at the top and think it should be gone. But no, it is still shown in the application launcher. This bug isn't new, it always has been happening. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Download any app from the browser with .tar.gz 2. Decompress the file 3. Start the application in the Terminal 4. Move the application folder in the Trash and delete it 5. Look into "Application Launcher" 6. Click on "Edit Application" 7. Click on the "Delete" button 8. Look into "Application Launcher" OBSERVED RESULT The app is still shown in the application launcher. EXPECTED RESULT It shouldn't be there. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 43 KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.22.0 Qt Version: 6.10.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This bug isn't new, it has been happening for all the time I am suing Fedora (~five months).
Hi, does the application disappear after running `kbuildsycoca6` in terminal? Also, > Sometimes I install applications from my browser, and extract them. Do you mean that you move the desktop file to the ~/.local/share/applications folder?
Hey, the command worked! When I install it from the browser I leave it in the Downloads category. I don't know if I should do that, but yeah...
