Description Rick Stockton 2026-01-24 21:41:46 UTC
SUMMARY

Due to some other issue within the display of menu items in kickoff, I am unable to move applications into 'favorites'. I have created a separate menu directory 'my favorites' which works correctly, but I cannot move the 'favorites' from the top of the displayed kickoff categories within kmenuedit - because it is not even displayed as a category. And of course, I can't add/delete/copy items within the category.

It would also be nice to have some way to to move" down or hide "all applications" downwards as well. The actual location of the 'favorites' list (outside of the standard menu file) is a mystery to me as well.

I might restore the default menu as a workaround (then inserting the real information in my categories by copying portions from a "saved" vesion of my existing menu). But limitations on the number of "favorities" would still exist on my system, because they only display in a horizontal layout and do not wrap around correctly. I really want to just hide "favorites" completely, and put "my favorites" at the top of the kickoff categories.

Favorites and All Applications are not categories and their position within the UI is not intended to be changed.
