Created attachment 188793 [details] Issue on Plasma 6.5.5 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have two items of the same type on the Desktop. 2. Rename one into the other's name. 3. When requested to pick a different name, pick the name that the item you're renaming already has. OBSERVED RESULT Sometimes a error screen saying "Invalid URL" will pop up, which doesn't make any sense. EXPECTED RESULT It shouldn't even be possible to rename the item as itself after trying to rename into another item's name. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: CachyOS Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.22.0 Qt Version: 6.10.1 Kernel Version: 6.18.6-2-cachyos (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 × 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-11300H @ 3.10GHz Memory: 9 GB of RAM (8.1 GB usable) Graphics Processor 1: Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics Graphics Processor 2: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Manufacturer: LENOVO Product Name: 82MG System Version: IdeaPad Gaming 3 15IHU6 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The error message is just a simpleton. The real issue is being able to rename the item to its own name.
I tried this with two text files: 1. Create text files a.txt and b.txt 2. Rename b.txt to a.txt 3. Popup appears, change the name back to b.txt 4. Another popup appears, saying you would overwrite the file with itself (?) I did not get invalid URL popup, but it is quite confusing. It should just be same as cancel operation.
