A spectacle screen recording of the rename process.

SUMMARY

When bulk renaming files (>1 file) some renamed files lose their file extension. I'm guessing this is a bug because the extensions may be unknown to Dolphin so it discards it during the rename process. This also happened in Kubuntu 24.04 LTS. Currently running Kubuntu 25.10 and this issue remains.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select > 1 file. In this case include both an "html" and a "nessus" file.
2. Rename them but do not use a "#" in them. I just want the name changed not the extension.
3. See the loss of the file extension.

OBSERVED RESULT
Some files lose their file extension.

EXPECTED RESULT
The file extension should always be retained when renaming files.
