I don't have those actual keys on my keyboard but I've used several keyboard remapping tools to map them, like input-remapper. They get recognized in some way (input-remapper sees the new rewind mapping as XF86AudioRewind) but they have no effect. They work as intended in other desktop environments I've tested. My use case is to control audio tracks while my student is writing, so using the media widget is not possible when there are active mouse/pen inputs in a window at the same time. The same problem is present in Plasma 5, both X11 and Wayland when I tried Kubuntu.
