feature request: Discover to show emblem with amount of updates on starter icon

I'm very much aware of the fact that this isn't the most urgent/important thing, but it would be nice if Discover showed the number of updates in an "emblem" on it's starter icon.

As in my attachment...

Thanks for the idea!

Right now the API we have for this only lets you badge the icon with numbers when the app is running. Since the time when you would actually need this information is when Discover is *not* running, I don't think it would be very useful in the end.

Thank you for your reply but "badge during operation of the (discover) program" is exactly what I mean.
- The first thing I do after I start my system is: to look if there are updates in discover,
- immediately after that I start other applications and so they come to lie on top of the discover window,
- when discover would give such a badge, then I could see if there were updates and how many the moment they showed and I didn't have to suspend my work to look if there were updates available,
- then I could come back to discover and let it go on with my own job.
For me it would be practical.
