Created attachment 188569 [details]
Screenshot of the launcher icon on the panel, with underline showing that it is open

SUMMARY
After using the system for a while, Application Launcher stops showing up when clicking or pressing the Meta key.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press Application Launcher icon few times to open and close it repeatedly.
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
After opening successfully few time, the Application Launcher fails to show up. The icon still shows the underline indicating that the widget is open, but it's not actually present (I can click the desktop freely where the Launcher would be).

EXPECTED RESULT
Application Launcher shows up normally.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
(available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window)
Operating System: NixOS 26.05
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.22.0
Qt Version: 6.10.1
Kernel Version: 6.18.4-zen1 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I had similar problem with other panel widget (volume/bluetooth etc) but I am unable to replicate them lately, so for now I assume it is Kickoff issue. However it is still a possibility it is more general issue with widgets.
The issue does not cause any crashes, and there is no any errors/warnings in `journalctl --follow` when I reproduce the issue.
I am able to workaround the issue by removing and readding the widget or by restarting plasma.

I fear this is not actionable without a dev reproducing

Have you modified the QtQuick settings to use Vulkan rendering? Try setting it back to Automatic.

Perhaps that was the cause. I set the rendering to Automatic, though the issue didn't go away. I'll reboot my system and will try to reproduce it once again.

Also, another note is that this problem also happens with krunner, so it is not kickoff issue after all.

No problems so far. I'll post an update a day later but as of now it seems that it is no longer happening.

I don't get the issue anymore. Thank you for the solution!
