STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Look at the clock in a vertical Panel.

OBSERVED RESULT
The horizontal format makes it hard to read the time and date.

This is similar to styles available on mobile phones, and would be more readable on a vertical panel.

This is basically a potential solution for the problem already articulated in Bug 440096. It's unclear if it's the correct one, though. Marking as a duplicate of that.
