Currently, hardware volume buttons on Android only control the local device volume unless the app is open. I suggest implementing a MediaSession combined with a Remote VolumeProvider.
Benefit: This would allow users to control the PC's system volume using the phone's physical volume buttons even when the app is in the background or the screen is off – similar to how Spotify Connect or Chromecast work.
