Description Kai Uwe Broulik 2026-01-11 07:21:19 UTC
SUMMARY
I set up fingerprint auth through fprint. When I lock the screen, it asks me to "place finger on reader". I do that. Nothing happens. Only when I then enter _any_ password (or just hit return with empty password) it gets unstuck and realizes "oh rigthy, the finger was already correct, unlocking"

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set up fingerprint auth through fprint
2. Lock screen
3. Place finger once prompted

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens until I hit return or enter any password

EXPECTED RESULT
It unlocks

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: git master as of 2026-01-10
Qt Version: 6.10.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Seems the pam request waits for some signal indefinitely that never arrives and only doing another request nudges it to realize it’s already completed. I do not get the infamous “Unlock” button, it just sits there doing nothing until I trigger another auth request.
