SUMMARY Some fields in the "Edit Page" interface of System Monitor are misleading and difficult to understand. See below for the details. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open System Monitor 2. Click on the Edit Page button on the upper-right corner 3. Click on a pie chart (e.g. the default "CPU") and get ready to edit OBSERVED RESULT 1. There is one field called "Total pie angle", but after some experimentation, I think it should be "Ending angle". I'm not a native English speaker, so I'm not sure whether this is a good name, but the translation in other languages for the original label is indeed misleading. However, I found out that the allowed values for this field are indeed between 0° and 360°. Maybe this is an implementation error? 2. "Total Sensors" does not make sense to me. At first, I thought it was either a combination of "Sensors" and "Text-Only Sensors", or a sensor that was limited to "total values". After some trial-and-error with different display styles, I think it is intended as a "headline" or "summary", but I cannot think of a better name for it. 3. "Text-Only Sensors" is only effective when "Show legend" is enabled (which is disabled by default), so it takes me some time to find out its function. This is already mentioned in bug 514147. EXPECTED RESULT The abovementioned fields should have easier-to-understand names. Any suggestions are welcomed.
I think the problem here is that the word "Total" is being used as a technical term, which is problematic because it has a standard meaning too.
