SUMMARY Okular has automatic inline spell checking enabled for multi-line pdf forms and no option under "configure okular" to turn it off. It's possible to disable it per-form via the right click context menu, but it should also be possible to disable globally, like any other gear application that can edit text. Use cases include anything where fields intentionally contain terms not in the dictionary - in my case this is TTRPG character sheets, but it's easy to imagine business or government cases too. The red underlining is visually distracting and unhelpful. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a pdf with a multi-line form text box in it 2. Type a series of letters not recognized as a word, such as "sdlkfjz" OBSERVED RESULT Red underlining is visible under the unrecognized word SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian forky/sid KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.20.0 Qt Version: 6.9.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Also confirmed in Debian 13 "trixie" with okular 25.04.2.
