Description Krik 2026-01-08 10:31:53 UTC
Currently Haruna always displays (if present) the metadata title, (if present) metadata language and the subtitle stream "name".

What I mean is this data...
----------------------------------------------
$ ffmpeg -i test.mkv
--snip--
  Stream #0:2(eng): Subtitle: subrip (srt)
    Metadata:
      title : English1
      ENCODER : Lavc62.11.100 srt
      DURATION : 00:35:14.442000000
----------------------------------------------
...results in → "English eng subrip" in the subtitle popup which is ugly. Also for some reason (srt) isn't there.

What I would like to have is something like this:

→ If a title is defined only display that.
"English1"

→ If the title is not defined fall back to the language.
"eng"

→ If there is no defined title and language fall back to the subtitle stream name.
"subrip (srt)"

→ If there a multiple subtitles always display both language and title.
"eng: English"
"eng: English (SDH)"
" fr: Français"

→ If there are multiple subtitles and at least one doesn't have a title and language always display the index number. This aids the user in quickly distinguishing subtitles.
"#0 subrip"
"#1 subrip"
"#2 eng: English1"
