SUMMARY There is a sequence for adding hyperlinks with arbitrary text which is supported by various terminals that seems currently unsupported. It has this form: ESC]8;;<url>ESC\<text>ESC]8;;\ A lot of tools I have authored use this, it would be nice if Konsole could support it as well. For reference, e.g. ghostty supports it. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Print a link to stdout using the ANSI sequence. E.g. printf '\033]8;;%s\033\\%s\033]8;;\033\\' "https://kde.org/" "KDE Website" 2. Ctrl + click the text. OBSERVED RESULT No effect. EXPECTED RESULT Opens link in default browser/invokes whatever is appropriate for the given protocol.
