There seems to be a bug in plasma Wayland session where both MPV and vlc would distort the video to the point you bearly recognize what's shown on the video, I'm using an old tushiba laptop with an AMD radion GPU on the plasma Wayland session and the videos would consistently break as I'm watching, odly when I press alt + f3 to bring a menu the video Fix's its self, I'm not sure if the problem is due to old hardware, old driver's, the video player's or kwin, but since it was consistent across multiple video player's I thought its a Wayland problem

>odly when I press alt + f3 to bring a menu the video Fix's its self,

That somewhat makes sense, when we have only one window fullscreen we go into a faster "direct scan out" mode.

If you export the environment variable KWIN_DRM_NO_DIRECT_SCANOUT=1 you will avoid this.

This really strongly implies it's a driver bug and needs reporting upstream. If you can test under Weston and confirm that would be useful.
